Aero Contractors Airline History and Ownership
Aero Contractors was officially registered in Nigeria in 1960 by Schreiner Airways B.V. of the Netherlands. With the requirements of the Nigerian Enterprises Promotion Decree of 1977, also known as the indigenization decree, it became a company with initially 40% Nigerian holding in 1973 and subsequently 60% in 1976. In January 2004, Schreiner Airways was bought by CHC Helicopter (CHC), which acquired a 40% holding in Aero, while the 60% majority share remained within the Ibru family.
On 1 July 2010, CHC sold its interests in Aero and Aero became wholly owned by the Ibru family.
Aero Contractors was hit with financial crises and was finally taken over by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) in August 2013 and Hugh Fraser was named as new CEO. In February 2016, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu was appointed as the substantive CEO for Aero Contractors.
Aero Contractors Baggage Allowances
Business class passengers can check in baggage up to 30kg while economy class passengers have an allowance of 20kg. Hand luggage allowances are fairly standard with the airline implementing a rule of only one 6kg piece of hand luggage per passenger, not exceeding dimensions of 45cm x 33cm x 20cm. Those worried that they will need to carry more luggage can check in additonal baggage at an excess fee per kg.

Like other air flight booking platforms, Aero Contractors accepts payments made with internet banking enabled ATM cards such as Mastercard, Visa or Verve card and through online payment gateways such as Interswitch, Paga, etc. For those who do not have any of these cards, you also have the option of printing your reservation page and payment id and then go to any bank and pay within the time frame stipulated on the reservation slip (usually 24 hours).
