<p>The articles might be down-to-earth but that&#8217;s what you will need if you hope to get onto the lane of big-earning business people. No long story here just real, hard-hitting facts, a little anecdote ( since people love stories to motivate them ) and lots of good, old advice.<br />
Now back to the topic. I know you can&#8217;t wait anymore for what I&#8217;ve got to dish out.<br />

My answer? Almost any skill can. It all depends on how you package both yourself and your skills and also on how good you are with those talents or skills.<br />
Before we start talking about how you can turn your unused gifts into millions lets first consider what kind of talents or skills you can actually work upon to earn your money.</p>

Today we are revealing to business men one of the greatest strategies ever to apply in the emancipation of their business no matter how small or big it might be. Everybody hears about marketing these days but still so many don&#8217;t understand how best to use the various marketing mix to push up their company income without taking their budget to the cleaners. My principal in high school would always admonish us to focus and focus. That brings me to focus marketing.</p>
<p>The beauty of focus is that it allows you aim all or most of your marketing energy at those who are most likely to buy your product or service. </p>
<p>You have to come across as an authority in a particular field. Even if you produce a wide range of products you should be able to carve a niche for each of them. This is why many companies have brand managers for each product or service brand they have. You should be able to position each of them to the target audience.<br />

In some cases the group that uses your product may not have the purchasing power. This happens when you produce goods for teenagers or children still under the control of parents and without money to spend. In these cases the company has to direct their marketing efforts towards the parents as well as (I advise strongly) the children. This is because the children will exert reasonable influence on the parents to buy if the former are moved to want your product.</p>
<p>I, actually, don&#8217;t want  to sound like one of the over schooled business professors who have never run even a diaper changing business but blow grammar all over without specifically telling business men what they could do to improve their business. So down to the nitty gritty, as a company, analyze your products, look around and identify the better prospective customers and bombard them through a mixture of marketing tools. Don&#8217;t sell to everybody.</p>
<p>Are you in the auto-repairs business? target car owners</p>
<p>In the baby care business?  Target mothers. Search for them wherever they are, hospitals, beauty clinics etc. make a list of every possible place they are most likely to be concentrated.</p>
<p>In the hotelier, hospitality industry? Aim your marketing at high brow offices, conferences and media prospects are likely to watch. Got the gist?</p>
<p>Look for places where people who are more likely to buy from you are found and turn on your marketing ideas full strength at them. At the long run when you have converted enough of them to your loyal customers you would be enjoying repeat sales.</p>

Many people hide their inability to start something ambitious such as a new business the farce of planning. Several years down the line after saying they would start something you ask them &#8220;How come you are yet to start &#8221; they say they are still planning. They plan and plan but still dodge from actually getting started. I once met a young man in my second year in the university. He claimed to be a  contractor and a printer. We got talking and I told him of my idea to get in touch with book importers who would supply me motivational, business books to open a modern bookstore in my campus. I saw the opportunity for that kind of business in the university campus and thought he could be a veritable partner as he said he had a business associate who imports books. He proceeded to take me through series of planning.</p>
<p>As he said, we had to get every details right. We had to survey this, survey that and make sure the environment was right. Three months later we were still planning to set up a simple bookshop. Each time we met to talk business he would commence boring lectures on his business experience and his versatility and stress that it was important to make sure the planning was right.<br />

Needless to say I got out instead of continuing to waste my time. Planning till eternity wouldn&#8217;t put money in my pocket</p>
<p>Planning for a new venture is very important though. You have to look at every possible aspect and tie all loose ends but when that young man took me through 3 months of planning for the small campus bookshop I wanted to open I knew he was one of those who preferred talking about what will be done than actually getting to do that thing which should be done. He would sometimes tell me of his plans to open a shoe and accessories store in my university but try as I would to get him to begin but he preferred going on and on with elaborate plans. He always carried a bag he claimed contained contract proposals and project documents of projects he was putting together for schools, government agencies and the rest.</p>
<p>In him I saw a talker and not a doer. He was a fan of Rich Dad, Poor Dad but he wasn&#8217;t ready to apply the lessons. He shied away from getting down to work.</p>
<p>If you plan to take care of every detail before setting out then you are certainly not setting out anywhere. All those who have started something and taken it to the next level whether it is a novel, football career, business etc started without waiting to make sure everything was alright. You would grow grey hairs and everything still won&#8217;t be perfect to start. Do the planning you can and if your mind tells you that the difficulties you&#8217;ve noticed cannot stop you, go ahead.</p>
<p>Some tenacious people have even started big dream in the face of overwhelming problems and come out victorious. By all means plan, identify stumbling blocks, make projections, forecast, analyze conditions and situations but don&#8217;t for God&#8217;s sake sleep there. I hope I am sending a message across to somebody with an idea but yet to start because of procrastination, Get to work!   </p>
