The hit reality Television show annually hosts contestants that compete for tens of millions of Naira in winning prizes. The current 2021 season has a 90 million Naira grand prize. The sixth season of the BBNija Multichoice Nigeria sponsored reality television show recently premiered with 22 competitors comprising of 11 female and 11 male contestants.

The show which has clicked ‘favorite’ in the minds of many viewers over the years is said to have been able to give enormous success to past housemates. The presumed success therefore makes a lot of people wonder where these previous housemates and winners are and what has become of their lives after the House. Here’s a quick view on a few of the past BBNaija winners and where they are/what they are currently doing.

1. Katung Aduwak

Katung was the winner of the first season in 2006 winning the $100,000 grand prize.

The one time up-start still has fans and supporters and can be said to have since then branched into digital journalism, scriptwriting, film production and storytelling which he uses to promote human rights and equality. He has been able to direct two films, “Unwanted Guests” and “Heavens Hell”. He is currently aged 41.

2. Michael Efe Ejeba

Michael Ejeba popularly known as Efe, won the second edition of the Big Brother Naija show.

He is a songwriter, singer and rapper. Since winning the show the graduate of University of Jos has released a few EPs and single tracks. Granted he has not really lit up the music scene as would have been expected after winning Big Brother Naija he has at least tried to remain on stream as a musician and media personality.

3. Miracle Igbokwe

Of all the past winners of the Big Brother Naija show Miracle is clearly the most enigmatic. He is the only one of the past winners to have successfully hidden away from the public eye – no show premieres, very little social media presence/activity etc. A look at his Instagram page at the time of this writing shows he last posted over 91 weeks ago.

Miracle trained as a pilot and not much has been heard of him after collecting his N25 million cheque and a Hyundai SUV on 30th May 2018.

On June 26 2019, more than a year after his BBNaija win, Miracle graduated from an aviation school in the United States. He posted the update on his Instagram page.

4. Mercy Eke

Mercy Eke won the 2019 season 4 with the theme “Pepper Dem” and become the first woman to do so. Born in Imo state and a graduate of the Imo State University Mercy appeared in a few music videos as a vixen prior to getting into the Big Brother show.

Since wining the show she has been very visible and recorded significant success – endorsment deals and a few acting roles has come her way. She has also launched her line of fashion clothing.

3. Bringing this down to the most recent, Olamilekan  Agbeleshebiola popularly known as Laycon o the 2020 season 5 is also making uptimum waves in the musical industry. He has engaged in a number of collaborations with major personalities such as his song “Verified” with Mayorkun.

Words on the streets says the House is a reinforcement or launching tool to becoming a star. Could this be true?

5. Olamilekan Mashood

Olamilekan, known as Laycon, became the fifth winner of the Big Brother Naija show. He is a singer, rapper and songwriter.

Before getting into the Big brother house he released a single called ‘Fierce’ with Chinko Edun and Reminisce from his second EP – Who is Laycon? He signed onto the Fierce Nation record label in 2019.

After winning the show Laycon is pushing on with his music, releasing a single ‘Senseless’ in August 2020and two further singles – Wagwan and Fall for Me – in 2021. He has also released his first album – Shall We Begin.
